Proud is a word that define myself today.  I have not been proud of myself for while, but today I started to be again. The scene  depicted in that painting from Magritte is similar to the reality, thus is nearly difficult to take them apart. Today I am proud to be able to see the reality, the illusion and the art among them.

Today I felt glad for the beautiful day. I do like cold, but I have enjoyed these sunny days; in fact, seems like I was energized again by the solar light. I missed the Cultural Center last week and I hate when that happens. However, tomorrow would have a field trip and I am just excited about that, for sure it would be terrific.

Today was a beautiful day, the sun came back out and and I bought three cacti to put in my kitchen window to encourage the sun to stay for a while. Tomorrow is a new day and the start of a new era which is going to influence our of us. Changes are always welcome.

Today I surfed on the internet and looked at many moderns paintings by the Belgian artist Rene Magritte. They are really funny and interesting. For example, one of his painting represents a pipe with the frase "this is not a pipe" written underneath the painting. this is funny because you see a picture of a pipe and than a sentence saying this is not a pipe. The artist seems to be inventing us to debate the difference between art and reality. The pipe is not really a pipe, but an artistic representation of a pipe by the artist.

I like this piece  by Edmund Cross called "Les iles d'or" in which he uses pointillism. I enjoy the seascape, the effect of the waves and the peaceful colors and shades that he uses.

Loop tour, awesome!

Anish Kapoor - Cloud Gate (a.k.a "the bean") 2004.

I like to see myself among the city reflection on "the bean" it's like I'm part of the sculpture, even though only for a moment.

Joan Miró - Miró's Chicago - 1981.

This art reminds me a cultural's typical figure from the Northeast of Brazil called "Baiana" who is usually a black woman descendant of African's slaves which was born in Bahia.

Marc Chagall - The Four Seasons - 1974.

I'm fascinated by mosaics and this artwork from Marc Chagall caught my attention when I was looking for Calder's Flamingo, honestly I didn't know at that time that this artwork was part of the Loop Tour, but I liked it and stopped to take a picture.

Alexander Calder - Flamingo - 1974.

Magdalena Abakanowicz - Agora - 2006.

Pablo Picasso - Untitled, known as The Picasso - 1967.
